Finally getting somewhere...

I am beginning to put the Master Bedroom together. Why is it that I waited to do this until LAST? Oh well, here it is...

The nightstand.
The bookshelf and the tv,

and again...but a close up look at the accessories.

A side view of the room,

and again, looking at it straight on. I am still waiting on the wedding prints to go in the frames.

Finally, here is the bed. As you can see, we are still waiting on the bed skirt and the headboard. I cannot wait to get those back from the upholsterer. Also left to do are window treatments and throw pillows. I'll get to them eventually. As I said before, this is only the beginning:)

I was also excited to get this hung at the end of the main hallway. It is one of our engagement pictures that we had framed for the wedding and had people sign it at the reception. I love looking at it everytime I go down the hallway. It brings back so many fun memories. Well, that's all for now. We are snowed in yet AGAIN! I think I will start dinner here in a bit and get ready for The Bachelor. I know, I know, I'm a sucker for reality tv:) I hope everyone has a great week!!!

I am ready for...

No work or school today. Instead, I get to stay home and clean, do laundry, make dinner, and do other wifely duties. I am ready for...
sunglasses,

and cute sandles,

and especially summer dresses,

and fun little umbrella drinks,

and definately this!!!

Snow, snow go away. I need some sunshine in my life:)

Only the Beginning

This is the beginning of the Master Bedroom. It's about time!!! This is only one wall and as you can see, there still aren't any pictures in the frames. I'm sure before this room is finished, the accessories will change about 100 times:) We still have to purchase another piece of furniture and I am waiting on the bedskirt, headboard, window treatments, and pillows. It's a slow process but here is the start. I painted the mirror myself with leftover paint from the kitchen. The big frames are from Garden Ridge (love that place). The potpourri is from Z gallerie and smellls wonderful. I think it's orchid or something like it. I really just liked the colors in it and it just so happened that it smelled good too! The decal and other accessories (including the lamp) is all from none other than the great TJ MAXX!!! I will update to let you all know about the progress.

Paul Mitchell

As most of you know, I am in hair school at Paul Mitchell (Louisville). I don't know why I haven't posted these pictures before now but these are from our grand opening this past November. It was an awesome thing to be a part of. These are some of the most inspiring people I have ever met.

This is Lenny King. He was one of our guests artist. He had so much energy and such a great outlook on life.

This is Winn Claybaugh. He is the Dean and Founder of Paul Mitchell Schools. He has an amazing book out called "Be Nice, or Else." I suggest everyone read it!

This is Winn's partner George Morales. He is a long hair specialist and was a fashion major like myself:)

Last but not least, this is John Paul DeJoria. He is the Founder of Paul Mitchell Systems. He has one of the best 'rags to riches' stories I have ever heard. He was once homeless living on the streets. Now he owns a ton of companies including Patron (the tequilla) and The House of Blues. It was so inspiring to hear these people speak. If you ever find the time, just google any of these people and you won't be disapointed.
