The Kitchen!!!

This past Wednesday I organized our entire kitchen and cleaned our whole house. Until then, we had stack of presents waiting to be put away, opened, returned, and used. I reorganized EVERYTHING. It took me an entire day. I feel so much better when I walk into the house now. It is finally starting to feel like home. Especially since I know where everything is. So far, we have kept things pretty clean. I have found that if you pick up after yourselves a little bit everyday, then it is super easy to keep clean. The neater things are, the cleaner it seems and the easier it is to clean.

This is a view of the back door and sink area from the dining room. As you can see we have minimal cabinet space.

And again...

We bought this at Pier One so we would have a little more storage space. It goes perfectly!

This is a view from the back door. To the right is the dining room and to the left is the family room and hallway to the bedrooms.

Since we have so little storage space, I had to make a mini display on top of the refrigerator for the things that wouldn't fit anywhere. I had no choice but to get creative at this point.

Dining Room!

This is a view of the dining room. As you can see, the fireplace is to the right followed by the kitchen. The brown wall is the same wall as the family room.

The table centerpiece. The cloth napkins and napkin rings are from World Market and the arrangement in the middle is from Hobby Lobby.

This is the buffet table. It is stuffed with random decorations, serving platters, and cookbooks. We need all the storage space we can get!

Finally feeling like home...

It's amazing what some window treatments, pillows, and a throw can do to warm up a room. This room is open to our kitchen and dining room so I had a hard time making it cosy without over crowding the other areas. I am so excited it is finally coming along. Our entertainment center is almost done. I will post pictures of that soon.

This is the end table by the couch. I love the lamp (Pier One) and the silk flowers. I have a hard time keeping the real ones alive:)

This is our fireplace. It is right in the middle of our house. It is the only thing that stands between the family room, dining room, and kitchen. Odd, I know but we love it. We haven't been able to use it yet but hopefully this winter we will!

What a month...a wedding and a birthday!!!

Seriously, what a month!!! Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 25! Kevin and I celebrated on Saturday by eating at Stoney River. Their carmalized onion mashed potatoes are to die for. I got those and a steak. It was amazing! Last night, we went to dinner with my mom, sister, and friend Liane. We went to PF Changs. The best part about going there is the dessert. We always get the banana spring rolls. After we left dinner, Kevin and I headed to Von Maur to do some birthday shopping. He's the best:) Here is what I ended up with:
a new handbag
and a new watch band for my michele watch.

Here are the banana spring rolls, don't they look yummy:)
We are going to dinner with my dad's family on Wednesday. After all the birthday festivites are over, it's back to the gym!!! Overall, a great birthday!

Presents!!!

When we came back from our honeymoon, my mom and Kevin's mom had cleaned the entire house. They even stocked the pantry for us. I have never seen a house so clean! They also put all of our presents from the wedding in the guest bedroom. We opened them all up on Monday night. We got a ton of stuff. There are still gifts coming to the house almost everyday. We are so thankful for everyone that got to come and share in our special day. It was everything and more than we had ever dreamed of!

Honeymoon!!!

We went to The Atlantis in the Bahamas. We had a great time! Here are some pictures to show you some of our favorite parts.

Here we are getting ready to lay out. We stopped to take a picture. In the background is where we stayed. We were to the left of the middle overhang. Fun fact...that middle part is a 10 room suite that is $25,000 per night! Jennifer Lopez stayed there on her honeymoon.

This was the view from our balcony. This shows part of the aquarium and the man made beach (which I liked because there weren't any scary creatures). The real ocean is in the far distance. To the left is the lazy river and water park and to the right is more of the aquarium. Although you can't see any, there were about 7 different pools!

This was taken at Nobu. It was an amazing Japanese restaurant. For a bill of $250 it better be good! Let's just say, we were a little sticker shocked when we got the ticket. Since it was so good and it was also our honeymoon, we were able to justify it. Oh well, you only live once right?

This was probably one of our favorite things we did. We swam with the dolphins!!! I will admit, I was a little nervous but I'm so glad I did it. The worst part was getting into the wet suit. There were 3 parts to it. Part 1, we put on goggles and a snorkle and swam across the pool with them all around us. Part 2, we got on boogie boards and the dolphins pushed us about 100 yards across the pool by our feet. They went really fast and even faster if you screamed:) Part 3, you got to rub down the dolphins, kiss them, feed them, make them do tricks, and get your picture taken. This was something we will definately remember. Of course, we had to spend the extra money to get the professional pictures.

This was taken one night before dinner. This is at the Marina Village. It was a part of the resort. There were a ton of shops and restaurants. There was also an ice cream shop that we visited a few times:)

Atlantis was awesome and I would love to go back!!!

My favorite things...

I loved my hair extensions! For those of you that know me well, you know that I have tried to grow my hair out for 4 years now. It grows SO SLOW! I was so glad when Brandi (my hair dresser) got me these.
I also loved by green shoes. I bought them at Zappo's for $10 and died them green myself. I used green fabric spray paint. It was almost the exact color of the bridesmaids' dresses.

This was probably my favorite thing. I found this broach at Elizabeth's, which is a consignment shop in Louisville. It was actually from the 1920's. I love Elizabeth's because she marks the date on all of her items that she sells. For a consignment store, it's amazing. She has some great things. I was so happy when I found this.

More wedding pictures...

Since I was only able to post a few pictures I thought I would add a few more that mean a lot to me. This is a picture from the rehearsal dinner. These are all my bridesmaids! They are all amazing and I am so lucky to have them in my life. Some are from college, some from high school, and of course my sister and new sister-in-law.

This is me with my mom and my sister. I loved this picture of us. I'm sure the professional one will turn out better but I wanted to post this for now. They did so much for me to make my day as perfect as it was.

Also known as the best day of my life. Here are a few pictures to sum up the festivities. We had so much fun. I think we are going to get married at least once a year from now on. I'm sure you will be seeing and hearing a lot more about this day. It was truly perfect!

The Big Move

I started to move my things into the house yesterday. Since we have had the house for almost a year, most of my things were already there. I only had to move clothes. Sounds simple right? WRONG! I never realized how many clothes I had aquired over the years. It took me 2 car loads and I still have enough clothes at home to last me months. I guess this is all a part of the marriage thing. Out with the old and in with the new. Kevin is in the process of building me a walk-in closet. I can't wait until it is finished!

On a side note...only 2 more days until the wedding!!!

Twilight

Let me start off by saying, "I AM NOT A READER!" Seriously, I can hardle make it through an US Weekly Article on Britney Spears. For those of you that know me well, that HAS to mean something. A few of my friends had said the same thing before they read this series. I liked the movie but I wasn't interested in reading four, 600 page books. One friend suggested that I read the first chapter and then give it back if I couldn't get in to it. Everyone was right. I am addicted! I started the first book about 3 weeks ago and I am now getting ready to start the 4th and final book. I am trying to save it for the honeymoon but I don't know if I can wait that long. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it because it was about vampires and warewolves. As it turns out, it is a love story-and a good one at that. I encourge everyone to at least read the first chapter like I did. I promise you will love it. I can't wait for the second movie to come out. From the previews, it looks like the movie follows the book pretty well. Happy reading!!!

Babies Babies Everywhere!!!

This past week was crazy. I made 2 trips to the hospital for friends that were having babies. I'm so excited for them both. I am especially glad they both went into labor before the wedding so that they could both hopefully be there...If their little men say it's ok.
